silent demonstration of Mumbai’s Muslims to condemn
extremism/terrorism in the name of Islam and denounce the
self-proclaimed enemies of our Motherland

Since last Saturday, Muslims have joined fellow-Indians in Mumbai
city and elsewhere in the country to, condemn the barbaric assault
on our metropolis, mourn the loss of precious lives, pay homage to
those brave policemen and commandos who laid down their lives in
the line of duty and express outrage at the all-too apparent
collapse of our entire system of governance.
Now on Sunday, December 7, 2008 Mumbai’s Muslims will
assemble in large numbers in front of the Chatrapati Shivaji
Train Terminus (VT) at 3 p.m. to condemn all extremist and
terrorist activities in the name of Islam and to denounce
extremist Muslim organisations and leaders who have openly
declared themselves as enemies of India. Taking the lead from
Mumbai, Muslims from Delhi, Lucknow, Kolkota, Bhopal, Ahmedabad,
Hyderabad, Bengluru, Chennai and other cities will hold similar
demonstrations in their respective cities, same date, same time.
It will be a silent, peaceful demonstration. No slogans will be
raised, no speeches given. But our banners and placards that will
send out some messages loud and clear: “Watan ke, Dushman, Hamare
Dushman!” (“Enemies of our Motherland are our enemies!);
“Begunahon ke qatil, Islam ke dushman! (Killers of innocents are
enemies of Islam).
The banners and placards will also name the perpetrators of mass
murder and mayhem and denounce all such organisations and leaders:
Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden, Taliban and Mullah Omar, ISI,
Lashkar-e-Tayyeba Hafiz Mohammed Saeed, Jaish-e-Mohammed and
Masood Azhar, Harkat-ul-Mujahideen, HUJI, Indian Mujahideen and
SIMI.
The participants will include men and women, Misters, Maulanas and
Muftis. All participants will assemble under the “Muslims Against
Terror” banner; no organisation will claim credit for this
spontaneous assembly of Mumbai’s Muslims.
In Mumbai the demonstrators will assemble before the Chatrapati
Shivaji Train Terminus (VT) at 3 p.m. and thereafter march to
Oberoi Hotel via MG Road, Veer Nariman Road and Marine Drive.
Thereafter they will disperse in a peaceful and orderly manner.
