Of India Harmony,
not shrine TIMES
NEWS NETWORK MUMBAI:
Kushboo Raval is a 18-year-old girl from Janata Nagar near Maninagar
in Ahmedabad. She does not understand politics. But, she is
convinced that the politics of communalism should be stopped. She
should know. Her father, Ashwinbhai, who was a Bajrang Dal activist,
was stabbed to death by a Muslim mob at Ramol in Ahmedabad on April
16, 2002. Her grandmother Sudha was burnt alive in the Sabarmati
Express at Godhra on February 27, 2002. The 12th standard student
told TNN, 'My father got drawn into the activities of the Bajrang
Dal in our area. He found the Hindutva ideology attractive. He was
42 and was active in the Bajrang Dal for about three years. But
nobody in our family agree with the Bajrang Dal. The Sri Ram temple
at Ayodhya is not important. What is important is peace and communal
harmony. Organisations like the VHP are not really concerned about
the people. So far we have received only Rs 50,000 from the Prime
Minister's Relief Fund. We
also receive about Rs 300 every month from the Sardar Sarovar bonds
worth Rs 40,000 issued in our name. But,we were promised a total of
Rs 2 lakh by the VHP. There is no sign of the remaining money.
But,my concern now is for peace in the country and not money." http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/cms.dll/html/uncomp/articleshow?msid=217507
