Sydney Marcus Dias is a former teacher who now works as the Chief Coordinator at the Centre for Children and Youth Development in Anamaduwa, Sri Lanka. He worked as a free–lance journalist for a few years and is now chief editor of an alternative children’s newspaper.
He is also a talented singer and has recently launched a cassette of songs for children.
So far, he has authored eighteen books, including five for adults and two drama scripts, one of which won him an award at the national youth drama festival. He has also won quite a few awards for children’s literature and the People’s Literary Award for a children’s book that is now ready to be published in English.
